Clays of various manufacturers have been investigated. The analysis of the chemical, mineral and granulometric compositions of clays is carried out, their main differences and their influence on the properties of the finished masses are shown. The properties of clays are determined, which are necessary to optimize the composition of ceramic masses. Rheological characteristics and their influence on technological process control are considered. The main disadvantages and advantages of various clays, both traditionally used by domestic producers and some new ones, have been established. Tab. 4, ill. 1, bibliography: 4 titles.

Even minor fluctuations (tenths of a percent) in the molten glass of such components as iron and aluminum oxides lead to serious changes in the rheological properties of the melt, heat transfer conditions in the furnace and in the molding units. Non-capital-intensive technologies for enrichment of raw materials are proposed, contributing to the improvement of the quality of glass products. Tab. 1, ill. 1, bibliography: 6 titles.
