It is shown that the development of an energy-efficient design of a glass container furnace involves the use of modern design methodology. The structure of the traditional stages of work on a furnace design must include its mathematical modeling, which precedes the stage of the technical design. The boundary conditions for modeling should reflect the conjugate nature of the external and internal heat transfer, as well as the hydrodynamics of the brewing basin. Tab. 1, ill. 3, bibliography: 18 titles.
A mathematical model of regenerative heat exchangers with a fixed refractory packing used for heating the incoming air for combustion in high-temperature glass melting units is considered. The computer complex developed on the basis of the model allows simulating the operation of regenerators of glass-melting baths when using modern types of nozzles with various configurations of a packed chamber for glass-melting furnaces with a horseshoe-shaped and transverse flame direction, taking into account the peculiarities of their operation. Tab. 1, ill. 4, bibliography: 7 titles.
