The main trends in the production of ceramic pigments based on silicates of various crystal structures are considered. The features of the synthesis of pigments and the formation of color-bearing phases are shown. The use of natural silicate and aluminosilicate materials will expand the raw material base, reduce the synthesis temperature and obtain a wide range of pigments for decorating porcelain-faience and majolica products. A variant of using oxides of rare earth metals for decorating porcelain is considered. The effect of these oxides, when introduced into the mass, on the formation of phases, as well as on the nature of the coloration of the structure, is shown. Tab. 2, bibliography: 6 titles.

The effect of engobe on the moisture expansion of double-fired tiles is shown. An engobe with insignificant moisture expansion was obtained, which improves the operational properties of the tiles. Tab. 2, ill. 2, bibliography: 1 title.

The physicochemical and technological properties of sandy clay raw materials and technogenic wastes of isopropelene production have been investigated. The technological parameters of the production of building ceramics based on them are presented. Il. 3.

Some types of kaolins from different manufacturers have been investigated. The analysis of the chemical, mineral and granulometric compositions of kaolins and their influence on the properties of the finished masses has been carried out. The properties of kaolins necessary to optimize the properties of ceramic masses have been determined. The rheological characteristics are considered and their effect on the control of the technological process is shown. The main disadvantages and advantages of various types of kaolins, both traditionally used by domestic producers and some new ones, have been established. Tab. 4, ill. 1, bibliography: 9 titles.

Brief information is provided on the promising deposits of clays and kaolins, feldspars and their substitutes, quartz minerals, carbonate rocks, pyrophyllites and kyanites, magnesia and magnesia-silicate materials and many other types of raw materials for the ceramic, glass and refractory industries located in the Urals.... The properties of kaolinite from the "Zhuravliniy Log" deposit are given and the tendencies of increasing the production of enriched kaolin from this deposit at ZAO "Plast-Rifey" are given. On the basis of alkaline kaolins available at this deposit, ZAO Plast-Rifey is considering the possibility of producing quartz-feldspar concentrates. Tab. 5.

The Latnenskoe deposit of refractory clays and the Shramovskoe deposit of refractory clays suitable for the production of ceramic products are considered. Tab. eight.

A comparative analysis of the quality of modern materials for the ceramic industry produced by domestic and foreign manufacturers is given. The high efficiency of application of modern high-quality materials of JSC "GEOKOM" in ceramic production is shown. Information on the effective use of wollastonite, calcite, talc, and kaolin in the production of various ceramic products is presented. Tab. 3.

CJSC "Petrokast Silica" has developed effective refractory materials for lining the hearths of trolleys in tunnel kilns. The trolleys lined with such refractories have been successfully operating for more than 2.5 years at the enterprises of the industry. Tab. 1, ill. 3.
