    Science for glass production

  • Physicochemical interactions in contact of the glass melt and refractory

    • Pages: 3-9
Physicochemical interactions at the contact of molten glass with refractories of glass-melting furnaces, mainly electrofused baddeleyite-corundum (Bakor) refractories, are considered. Three main directions of interaction are discussed: surface phenomena, chemical interactions, transport phenomena. Il. 6, bibliography: 21 titles.
  • Thermochemical modification of the surface of the moving glass ribbon

    • Pages: 10-12
The results of studies on thermochemical modification of the glass ribbon surface during its continuous production are presented. It is shown that the application of a composite coating developed by the authors to the glass surface by an order of magnitude increases its water resistance and ~ 2 times its mechanical strength. The essence of the proposed development consists in the application in several stages of chemical reagents that create a transparent film on the glass surface, which makes it possible to control the quality of the float tape. Tab. 4, ill. 1, bibliography: 4 titles.
  • Thermal resistance of green container glass

    • Pages: 13-17
The influence of individual production factors on the heat resistance of glass containers has been studied. It is shown that the use of quartz raw materials with a grade that differs from that adopted for the technological process in a given glass-melting furnace can lead to a mass rejection of products, which consists in the appearance of midges and non-heat resistance. The phenomenon is explained from the standpoint of fluctuations in the thermal transparency index of the molten glass. Il. 4, tab. 4, bibliography: 9 titles.
  • Synthesis of polyphosphate glass

    • Pages: 18-21
Multicomponent spatially crosslinked polymers based on ultraphosphates with a glass transition temperature of 123 - 302 ° C have been synthesized. Their hydrolytic stability (the rate of weight loss during boiling in water) was measured, equal to 0.0075 - 0.123 g / min. A correlation has been shown between the glass transition temperature of polymers and their water resistance. A quantitative relationship has been obtained between the pour point and glass transition temperature of polymers t T = t s + (25 ? 35) ° C. It is shown that it is possible in principle to obtain, based on polymer ultraphosphates, highly heat-resistant inorganic thermoplastics with a pour point varying over a wide range. Tab. 1, ill. 5, bibliography: 14 titles.
  • Luminescence characteristics of alkali borate glass

    • Pages: 22-24
The luminescence of alkaline borate glasses with the composition Li 2 O - B 2 O 3 and Na 2 O has been studied by pulsed cathodoluminescence. - B 2 O 3. The results obtained are compared with the results of studying the anionic structure of these glasses. It was found that the intensity of cathodoluminescence increases with an increase in the proportion of alkali metals in the glass composition, is determined by the proportion of non-bridging MOB bonds in the structure of these glasses and differs in lithium and sodium glasses. Il. 2, bibliography: 13 titles.
  • Science for ceramic production

  • X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy of complex oxide ceramic system BeO - TiO2 - C

    • Pages: 28-33
Using the ceramics of the BeO - TiO 2 - C system as an example, methodological aspects of the use of X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy for studying the chemical composition, charge state, and electronic parameters of the surface of complex oxide ceramics containing regions with different electronic conductivity are discussed. The issues of surface preparation of ceramics using ionic Ar + bombardment and mechanical cleaning with a diamond scraper in vacuum are considered. Il. 6, bibliography: 8 titles.

  • Direct-on glass enamels with complex adhesion activator for PUESTA technology

    • Pages: 34-36
The effect of the composition of enamel frits containing a complex adhesion activator on the electrical resistivity and adhesion of frit powders to low-carbon steel and the adhesion strength of coatings to metal has been studied. The possibility of synthesis of low-melting competitive primerless enamels for the technology of powder electrostatic coating PUESTA with a complex adhesion activator containing a minimum amount of expensive adhesion oxides NiO and CoO with a firing temperature of 780 - 800 ° C has been established. The composition of a soilless frit for the PUESTA technology has been developed and introduced into the production of household appliances. Tab. 4, bibliography: 3 titles.

  • Increase in dimensional stability of the diamond ring for machine grinding of the household and fancy glass

    Autors: A. V. Popov
    • Pages: 25-27
An increase in productivity and a decrease in the cost of grinding products from profiled and art glass is achieved as a result of using special multi-spindle copying machines or CNC machines. An increase in the dimensional resistance of diamond wheels for machining was carried out by increasing the wear resistance of the bond. It has been established that the addition of 10% cobalt powder to the binder is optimal and leads to a decrease in the relative consumption of diamonds by 45 - 50% and to an increase in the dimensional resistance of the wheel by 40 - 45%. New wheels for machine grinding of high-quality and art glass on a bond with the addition of 10% cobalt powder are recommended for industrial use. Il. 2, bibliography: 3 titles.
