The influence of various propping liquids on the glass cutting process is analyzed: on the wear of the cutting edge of the roller, the breaking force along the applied cutting line, the load on the glass cutting roller. The results of studies of the effect of proppant liquids on chip formation and their wash-off from the glass surface are presented. Tab. 2, ill. 1, bibliography: 2 titles.
Taking into account the change in the thermal transparency of the molten glass, non-standard situations that arise during the operation of a multi-ton bath furnace are analyzed. It is shown that an increase in the amount of introduced breakage, a decrease or temporary cessation of glass production worsen its thermal transparency. Tab. 2, bibliography: 5 titles.
The technique and results of using mathematical models for statistical analysis and control of the annealing mode of a moving glass ribbon in a tunnel furnace are presented. The results of a computational experiment on evaluating the efficiency of control algorithms for the annealing regime are indicated. The possibility of reducing waste and improving the quality of annealing of polished glass is shown. Tab. 4, ill. 3.
The attraction of glass particles simulating grains of quartz sand by capillary collars of aqueous solutions of sodium sulfate and sodium carbonate of various concentrations is experimentally studied. It is shown that the attraction of particles in the first moments of contact with the bridge liquid is due to capillary interaction. With the evaporation of water and saturation of the solution, additional adhesion of solid particles was found, caused by the formation of crystallization contacts. Il. 5, bibliography: 2 titles.
Optimal parameters of glass cutting are investigated and substantiated: material and angle of sharpening of glass-cutting rollers, load on them, the role of wedging liquid and the influence of these parameters on the quality of the glass edge. Il. 2, bibliography: 5 titles.
A new method is proposed for predicting optical distortions in tempered glass, which clarifies the previously proposed dependences. The nonlinear dependence of the elastic modulus on the glass temperature has been introduced. Il. 2, bibliography: 5 titles.
The shapes and types of stress zones at the tops of edge cracks are investigated depending on the size of the crack, the presence of a propping fluid in it, and the presence of post-annealing stresses in the glass. The mechanism of glass surface protection from damage by exposure to post-annealing stresses is explained. Tab. 1, ill. 4, bibliography: 7 titles.
The results of research on the production of glass microspheres by the method of plasma spraying are presented. The influence of the parameters of the plasmatron operation on the grain size composition of the microspheres has been studied. Tab. 1, ill. 3, bibliography: 5 titles.
The process of cutting sheet glass with a carbide roller is considered. Using the methods of mechanics of contact interaction, a method has been developed for calculating the main parameter characterizing the glass cutting process - contact pressure. The proposed technique can be used to determine the stress state of glass during its cutting, as well as to analyze the process of cracking and optimize the modes of cutting glass with a hard alloy roller. Il. 1, bibliography: 7 titles.
The analysis of some parameters that determine the structure of glasses, which must be taken into account when designing the chemical compositions of microspheres, including molar volume, silicate modulus (in the case of silicate glasses), gas permeability coefficient, structure connectivity factor. In addition, an "internal porosity" parameter has been proposed. Tab. 1, ill. 1, bibliography: 9 titles.
