A new ceramic pigment of black color was developed based on the CoO - Fe 2 O 3 system at low synthesis temperatures (1000 - 1200 ° C). The optimal temperature range for the spinel formation reaction in the indicated oxide system has been established. The resulting pigment, when introduced during grinding into a raw glaze for sanitary porcelain, provides glaze coatings characterized by an intense and stable black color in a fairly wide range of firing temperatures.
