Optically transparent ceramics based on yttrium oxide using carbonate and alkoxide precursors

Methods for the fabrication of optically transparent ceramic materials based on Y ₂ O ₃ using carbonate and alkoxide precursors are considered. It was found that the ceramics synthesized on the basis of yttrium isopropylate, in comparison with the material obtained on the basis of yttrium carbonate under the same conditions of heat treatment and firing, has better optical properties.
