The effect of the duration of surface treatment of lime-alkali silicate glass in a melt of potassium and lead nitrates at a temperature of 460 ° C on chemical resistance and mechanical strength has been investigated. It is shown that the formation of a crystalline lead-silicate coating during processing makes it possible to increase by 3 times the alkali resistance and 2 times the mechanical strength of glass. Practical recommendations are given. Il. 4, bibliography: 7 titles.
