The properties of clay shales of the Dzherdanak field (Uzbekistan) have been investigated. It was found that during their heat treatment, a mullite-like phase with an increased content of silicon oxide is formed. The possibility of obtaining refractories, porcelain and faience on the basis of raw materials from this deposit has been determined. Tab. 1, ill. 3, bibliography: 3 titles.
