Structure-phase transformations upon firing of new ceramic raw materials: topaz-containing rock

The features of the chemical and mineralogical composition of natural topaz-containing raw materials from the "Kopna" deposit and the processes of phase formation during heat treatment of topaz rocks with different ratios of topaz and quartz components have been investigated. The prospects of its use in the technologies of aluminosilicate ceramics for refractory and technical purposes have been established. Due to its good reinforcing properties, acicular and fibrous mullite, formed during the decomposition of topaz, can be used in various composite materials based on glasses, ceramics, polymers, etc. Table. 2, ill. 3, bibliography: 7 titles.
