The process of pneumatic classification of substandard sands is considered. It is shown that due to the optimal choice of the separation boundaries of the apparatus, it is possible to obtain sands that meet the requirements of the state standard in terms of particle size distribution. A mathematical model has been developed that allows to optimize the parameters of the operation of pneumatic classifiers and to obtain the maximum yield of the finished product. Examples of industrial use of pneumatic classifiers are given, which confirm the prospects of using pneumatic classification of sands in the glass industry. Tab. 1, ill. 3, bibliography: 2 titles.
