The experience of the Saratov Institute of Glass on the transition from Tashlinsky sand to local sand of variable chemical composition in the production of light and heat-shielding float glass is considered. Practical recommendations are given. Bibliography: 4 titles.

The effect of deposition modes - deposition rate and total content of film-forming oxides in solution - on the microhardness of sol-gel films of molar composition (%): 22 Bi ₂ O ₃, 25 Fe < sub> 2 O ₃, 53 TiO ₂. The relationship between these parameters and the particle size of the dispersed phase of the film-forming solution, the degree of turbulence of its flow, and presumably with the packing density of solid particles in the film is established. It is shown that the correct selection of the deposition modes makes it possible to obtain coatings of different thicknesses with the highest possible microhardness. Tab. 4, bibliography: 8 titles.

The temperature-time conditions of the periods of cooling and crystallization of fiery-liquid silico-manganese slags have been determined. The possibility of using the results obtained for the production of glass-crystalline materials for construction purposes is shown. Tab. 1, ill. 1, bibliography: 4 titles.

Thermal analysis of clays of the Gzhel deposit was carried out, their mineral composition was determined. The influence of various impurities, minerals, dispersion on the behavior of clays during heating has been determined. Tab. 1, ill. 3, bibliography: 6 titles.

The results of an X-ray diffraction study of a single crystal of silicon carbide SiC 6H formed during detonation from silicon dioxide and graphite are presented. The structure was determined using direct methods and refined by the full-matrix least squares method in the anisotropic approximation using 312 reflections to R ₁ = 0.0194. The problem of reproducibility is discussed from a fairly general point of view of the applied theory of dynamical systems. A number of basic concepts of the theory of nonlinear oscillations (bifurcations, fractal sets, spatio-temporal networks of interacting subsystems), which may be useful in applications, are described at the qualitative level. Porous ceramics were obtained from strontium zirconate synthesized from zirconium dioxide TsRO-2 and baddeleyite powder PB-1 and strontium carbonate using a burnout additive - bead polystyrene. The possibility of making porous zirconate ceramics in a one-stage synthesis process - sintering is shown. The material is intended for the lining of a high-temperature electric furnace. The possibility of obtaining nephritized dull glaze of high-temperature firing (1280 ° C) for sanitary ceramic products is considered. The glaze contains finely dispersed zircon and has a high whiteness.

The composition of the molding mixture for the manufacture of facing facade ceramics, which includes expanded vermiculite sand, is given. The resulting products are distinguished by a good decorative appearance, increased frost and heat resistance. Bibliography: 1 titles.

Sintering and properties of granular compositions with quartz-feldspar sand - waste from ore processing have been investigated. Low-melting binders have been developed that possess mineralogical compatibility to sand grains, reactive activity to their surface, favorable phase composition for sintering and ceramic properties. The effect of the composition, binder content, grain size composition of sand and firing temperature on the sintering of compositions for the manufacture of tiles for various purposes with imitation of the granular surface of natural stone (granite) and vitrified has been established.
