  • Features of using vibratory feeders with unbalanced electric drive for dosing of crumbling components of the glass charge

    • Pages: 6-8
The features of using vibrating feeders with an unbalanced electric drive for dosing bulk components of a glass batch are considered. Designs of vibrating feeders are presented that exclude the influence of resonance phenomena on the dosing accuracy when the unbalanced vibrator is turned off. The principle of vibration-gravitational feeding of material is proposed, which makes it possible to carry out a two-speed dosing mode with a single-speed operation of an unbalanced vibrator. • Study of quartz glass defects under the influence of high-speed micro-particles on portholes

The operation of any spacecraft is associated with the danger of accidental collisions with the so-called space debris and the bombardment of various microparticles (meteorites). Both the MIR spacecraft and the International Space Station (ISS) have detected traces of impacts of meteorite microparticles in the form of fracture defects on the surface of quartz glass windows. To assess the danger of these defects, research is being carried out to find criteria for assessing the residual strength of quartz glass. In the defect zone, five destruction subzones were identified, the analysis of which shows that the 3rd and 4th subzones are dangerous stress concentrators. A method has been found for assessing the impact energy of microparticles from the morphology of defects. The impact energy was determined for a defect with a diameter of 2.5 mm, obtained on the window No. 13 of the ISS. Tab. 2, ill. eight.
  • Diffusion-chemical interactions in the glass system K2О - РbО - SiO2

    Autors: Yu. A. Guloyan
    • Pages: 13-18
The analysis of diffusion-chemical interactions in glasses of the K 2 O - PbO - SiO 2 system has been carried out. Interactions are considered from the kinetic point of view in relation to the structural features of glasses and the conditions of technological processes. Il. 6., bibliography: 18 titles.
  • Yachevskii Optimization of physical and chemical processes upon glass batch preparation and assessment of the humidity effect on the efficiency of glass melting

    • Pages: 19-23
The analysis of physical and chemical processes and individual factors affecting the homogeneity of the charge both when mixing the components of the charge in the mixer of the compound shop, and during its transportation and loading into the glass furnace. The influence of the humidification process on the quality of the charge is determined when receiving the glass charge, its transportation and loading into the furnace by charge loaders. Temperature factors have been determined that ensure the maintenance of the temperature of the charge when it is loaded into the furnace, not lower than 35 - 40 ° C. Determined the degree of carryover of the charge by the amount and components on the loading pocket and regenerators along the length of the glass-making furnace. Based on the results of the work, directions for further research are proposed to optimize the process of preparing the charge in order to increase the efficiency of the glass-making furnace. Il. 6., bibliography: 6 titles.
  • Synthetic raw materials for float glass production

    • Pages: 24-26
The prospects of replacing the traditional charge with a charge containing synthetic raw materials (SSM) or entirely consisting of SSM are shown. This will allow saving raw materials and fuel and energy resources, simplifying the technology for preparing the glass batch, intensifying the technological process of glass melting, improving the quality and stability of the characteristics of the produced glass; improve the environment. The use of CCM will provide an opportunity to organize glass production in regions that do not have their own raw material base. Tab. 1, ill. 2, bibliography: 4 titles.

  • Bench assembly of the glass furnace bottom

    • Pages: 30-34
JSC "BKO" has mastered the technology of bench assembly of glass furnace elements, first of all, the furnace bottom. To ensure the required assembly accuracy, a set of works was performed: a stand was designed and built with deviations in non-flatness ±; 0.5 mm, mastered the technology of preparation (cutting and grinding) of block products for bench assembly with minimum permissible deviations (linear dimensions ± 0.25 mm; slopes - less than 0.2 mm), the bench assembly technology itself. The developed technology was applied to the assembly of other elements of the furnace: feeder trays of the glass-forming machine, regenerator arches and loading pockets. The use of a bench assembly can significantly reduce the time for the installation of a glass-melting furnace, reduce construction costs, create favorable conditions for laying other elements of the furnace, which generally contributes to an increase in the life of the furnace. • Dressability of quartz from kaolin deposit Zhuravlinyi Log

    • Pages: 35-37
The composition of mineral inclusions in quartz sand of wastes of the kaolin production "Plast-Rifey" operating on the basis of the "Zhuravliny Log" deposit has been studied. Various technological operations for enrichment of this raw material have been tested. The efficiency of the use of various technological operations of waste enrichment and their application for the creation of high-purity quartz concentrates suitable for the manufacture of glass is shown. Il. 2, bibliography: 6 titles.

Improving the quality of diamond wheels for grinding flat glass edges was carried out by reducing the relative consumption of diamond grinding wheels as a result of increasing the wear resistance of the bond and the use of diamond powders with an optimal coating. New wheels on a metal bond with a volume content of nickel powder of 40% and with a diamond powder with a nickel coating of 56% are recommended for industrial use, which provide a reduction in the relative consumption of diamonds by 20 - 30% with a constant roughness of the processed surface.
