The basic principles of controlling the thermal and technological modes of the glass-making process in furnaces for the production of sheet glass by the float method are presented. To ensure more efficient operation of the glass furnace, the fuel supply is redistributed over the cooking zone. The technical result of using a rational distribution of heat loads over the furnace burners is to reduce energy consumption for the cooking process and improve product quality. Maintaining a predetermined level of iron oxides in glass and controlling the redox potential during glass melting are important.

The issues of interrelation of surface tension and viscosity of glass melts are considered from physicochemical and technological positions. The corresponding dependences and experimental results are presented. The relationship between surface tension and viscosity is also considered for technological processes: glass-making and the interaction of molten glass with refractories, molding of various types of glass products, thermal polishing and melting of the edges of products, foaming in the production of foam glass.

The possibility of making foam glass from poor zeolite-containing rocks is considered. A significant increase in the intensity of foaming of the compositions is achieved by mechanically activating the crushed rock or by adding flask rock to alkaline zeolite-containing compositions. At the same time, the macro- and microporous structure of the foam obtained from the usually crushed rock in a rod mill differs from the foam made from mechanically activated rock powder.

A composition of titanium-containing crystal glass with high chemical resistance, heat resistance and hardness is proposed. The glassmaking process has been studied in laboratory conditions. In order to avoid staining glass with titanium iron chromophore groups, it is recommended to use raw materials of high purity, in particular, enriched quartz sand and vein quartz of the highest grade. Glass is characterized by the safety of production and use.

The regularities of the process of interaction of amorphous potassium polytitanate with titanium oxide in the process of firing their mixtures taken with different content of components are investigated. The mechanism and sequence of phase transformations in the studied mixture are analyzed. It was found that the introduction of titanium oxide into potassium polytitanate leads to the formation of a denser ceramic structure consisting of compacted potassium hexatitanate nanofibers stabilized by TiO ₂ crystals.

The study of wear products (sludge) formed during fine diamond-abrasive polishing of ruby ??showed that the size of the particles that broke off from the treated surface significantly depend on the properties of the surface-active components of the polishing composition. The results obtained must be taken into account when developing polishing compositions that provide an increase in the productivity of fine abrasive processing and an improvement in the surface quality of products.

The change in the thickness and refractive index of one-component coatings of the compositions SiO 2 and TiO 2, deposited from solutions on a float glass substrate, and the light transmission of composites, depending on the deposition conditions films. The influence of the content of oxides in the solution, the rate of deposition and the duration of maturation of the solutions on the basic properties of films and composites was quantitatively evaluated.

The analysis of the development of translucent structures in Russia from 1991 to the present is presented. A methodology for assessing the payback of energy efficient windows in various regions of the Russian Federation is presented. The zoning of the country's territory according to the new increased values ??of the resistance to heat transfer of translucent structures is proposed.
